A BER funded new library and 2 classrooms have nearly completed the Primary School Master Plan. Their simple light filled spaces with generous volumes create an inner and outer playground environment for the children. The project came in well under budget, allowing additional landscaping and fitout to be completed.
A kindergarten, 5 classrooms, staff and administration building had been previously designed and completed within the context of BJA’s Master Plan. The Primary School buildings are sited to enclose a large courtyard and playing field, all surrounded by natural bush which slopes down to a permanent creek.
Each classroom provides for a formal desk area with an additional informal story telling / movement / craft space. Natural light and cross ventilation is provided by high ceilings and screened clerestory glazing.
